With my Edge 705, i got RideWithGps GPX files to the edge by downloading the route to a file on my computer and then attaching the Edge 705 with a cable to the PC and dropping the GPX file in the GPX folder on the Edge. Very simple, intuitive, worked reliably! I have connected the edge 530 to the computer, but there is no GPX folder. Every few months I check forums to see if there is a fix for transferring routes (WITH POI's) to Garmin Edge devices for long bike routes with fueling / restroom / etc stops. Garmin Connect boasts that this is possible by uploading GPX and TCX files. For as long as Garmin Connect has existed, this function has just simply not worked for getting ridewithgps + poi's. This past year someone. For all you Edge 1030 Plus people that used to 'pin' and send routes over to your device from Ride With GPS, but can't because there isn't an app in Connect IQ, here is a work around which I think is better. The Edge 1030 Plus is relatively new and we do not have spec docs, so we have not been able to make a CiQ app for it. You still have the option for transferring routes wirelessly through. I bought a new Edge 1040 to replace 530. I use RideWithGPS to build routes. I used the Pin route feature in RWGPS and the routes used to show up in 530 without additional steps. However, this is not happening with new 1040. The RWGPS routes will show up in Garmin Connect App (or website) but I had to manually send to device from Garmin Connect. I cycle not just for the sport or daily use, but I also travel with it. For me, Having POI's appear on my route is the second most important aspect of the GPS after showing me the proper route. I have a course that was created in RideWithGPS that I want to import into Garmin Connect so I can load it onto my Edge 830. On the RideWithGPS website, it offers several formats to download the file.fit.tcx.gpx.kml, etc. In the download window, it states: The one thing that has us stumped is inability to find RideWithGPS in the Connect IQ app store (on her iPhone). I found something that said RwGPS is compatible with many Edge devices, including Explore 820 and Explore 1000, however, this seems like a big miss for a so-called Touring cycle computer? I’ve always been able to just go to Pinned Routes in the Connect IQ RideWithGPS application and download the routes. However, the last few weeks, I can’t get any pinned routes to download. A dedicated community for Garmin users to ask questions, provide answers, and share feedback. I ran into the same thing. You dont need the IQ app. You link your account to GC. Your pinned routes will sync. If they are already pinned you have to unpin then pin again I use RideWithGPS. I just pin the routes in RideWithGPS and they sync to my 1050, via Garmin Connect. That has worked without issue since I got my 1050 mid-summer.
